Disc Flex was specifically formulated to decrease joint pain associated with osteoarthritis and help maintain bone health. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative condition characterized by painful joint inflammation. It may be associated with stiffness, limited joint function and decreased quality of life. Although it can affect any joint, it commonly occurs in the knees, hips and spine. Research has reported that individuals with osteoarthritis experience high levels of reactive oxygen species, which can stimulate the activity of matrix metalloproteinases (enzymes that degrade cartilage). The advanced nature of this product involves its ability to decrease inflammatory mediators and reactive oxygen species, while maintaining healthy calcium metabolism. Devil’s claw has been shown to help relieve osteoarthritic joint pain through its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. It decreases mediators of inflammation and cartilage destruction, while increasing the activity of endogenous antioxidant enzymes. Grape seed extract and alpha lipoic acid further provide antioxidant protection. Vitamin D and vitamin K2 (menaquinone-7) maintain bone health by supporting healthy cartilage end plate calcium metabolism. Disc Flex also includes glucosamine hydrochloride and BioCell Collagen® Hydrolyzed collagen complex.
