Thyroid Support Complex is a comprehensive formula containing vitamins, minerals and herbal extracts. It was specifically designed to support healthy thyroid gland function. Iodine is absorbed by the thyroid gland and supports the formation of triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4) hormones. l-Tyrosine is also a key component in the synthesis of thyroid hormones. Healthy selenium levels have been associated with maintaining healthy thyroid cell metabolism, as well as thyroid hormone function. Doubling as a powerful antioxidant, selenium combines with vitamin C and curcuminoids to neutralize free radicals, including those that affect iodothyronine 5’-monodeiodinase enzyme activity, the limiting factor in the conversion of T4 to the more active T3 hormone. Thyroid Support Complex also contains standardized extracts from forskohlii, guggul and ashwagandha, herbs with an extensive history of traditional use.
