Description

B. subtilis is a soil based organism and is fungicidal, and is an immunostimulant that was widely used as a treatment for gastrointestinal and urinary tract diseases prior to the introduction of antibiotics. It supports gut repair by increasing IgA and butyrate, and produces over 12 antibiotics. It is also shelf stable and resistant to breakdown by gastric acids. B. subtilis HU58 is a unique probiotic strain that is formulated in a protective spore form that has been shown to survive the acidic environment of the stomach. The near-impenetrable coating protects the bacterium from harsh environments, including heat, acid, pressure, light and lack of oxygen, leading to 100% survivability in the intestinal tract.
