Akkermansia muciniphila is a species of bacteria that resides in the gastrointestinal tract, specifically in the mucus layer that lines the intestinal wall. It has the ability to improve metabolism and support digestive processes, and has been shown to be involved in GLP1 production and aids in weight loss, improves leaky gut, improves IBC, CVD, neurological conditions like autism and cancer.
