Description

Mimosa pudica is an Ayurvedic plant that has a host of medicinal benefits including anti-asthmatic, analgesic, antiparasitic, anticancer, antidepressant, as well as many others. It is known as the “sensitive plant” or “touch-me-not” as the leaves fold inward and droop when touched. Its pharmacological activity is due to the vast array of plant constituents including tannins, steroids, flavonoids, triterpenes, alkaloids, glycosylflavone, jasmonic acid and the non-protein amino acid mimosine.
