Description
Therapeutic actions: • Plant not well studied in gemmotherapy. Neurological remedy – antiepileptic (increases electrical function on the dura mater and reduces storms in the brain). • Skin drainage remedy (through the preservation from oxidative damage via hepatoprotective and regeneration of dying cells). • It has demonstrated febrifuge, hypotensive and digestive spasmolitic action in rat and dog studies. • Is often listed to be given in association with other gemmotherapeutic remedies.
Clinical indications: • Uro-genital: Nephroangiosclerosis, interstitial nephritis, fibrocystic breast, benign mastitis, benign mastodynia. • Neurological: Epilepsy, petit mal seizures. • Gastro intestinal: Intestinal antispasmodic. Diarrhea, celiac disease, IBS, gastritis, colitis. Excellent for rectal fissures. • Skin: Eczema that fissures, eczema and psoriasis.
Consider in combination with: • Tilia tomentosa, for epileptic disorders • Fagus sylvatica, for renal dysfunctions, especially nephroangiosclerosis • Betula verrucosa, Rubus idaeus, for benign fibrocystic breasts • Vaccinium myrtillus, for cataract formation, to slow it down • Cedrus libani, for eczema and psoriasis of the dry type

Dose
Adults and children > 12 years • Depending on the patient and the problem being treated, 5-10 drops daily are recommended. • To start with, 5 drops should be taken; this dose can be increased by one drop daily to reach a maximum of 15-20 drops daily, until the required and stable result is acquired. The dosage is then maintained for the remainder of the treatment period. • The length of the treatment depends on the health problem and the gemmotherapy remedy used. Normally it is recommended that the treatment be continued for three (3) months. The treatment should last for a minimum of three weeks and can be repeated several times, allowing for example a treatment-free week between each course. • One or two remedies, the most applicable, can be combined; more are not usually necessary. However, the complexes have the advantage of combining several extracts in one formula, thus facilitating the treatment. A complex may, if considered necessary, be combined with another complex or individual bud extract.
