Description
Therapeutic actions: • Secale cereale is one of the rare germinated seeds used as embryonic tissue in gemmotherapy. Its properties are little known and the plant is insufficiently studied. • Secale cereale (Rye rootlets) macerate is essentially a liver remedy that stimulates, regenerates, and restores hepatocytes (Milk Thistle). • Antiviral (influenza virus and the common cold), stimulates the immunity. • Has a certain “antibiotic” property. Germination of Secale cereale rootlets emits substances which inhibit germination of other plants. • Removes polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and polychlorinated phenols (PCPs) from the body. • Skin: Repairs the epidermis and the dermis, which could be an indirect effect of its action on the liver.
Clinical indications: • Liver: All types of hepatitis acute & chronic, cirrhosis, fibrosis, jaundice, post-icteric sequelae, liver regeneration, alcohol & drug addictions. Reduces liver enzymes in the blood. • Skin: Psoriasis (healing action on the skin (dermis and epidermis).
Consider in combination with: • Juniperus communis, for all liver conditions • Cedrus libani, Ribes nigrum, Tilia tomentosa, psoriasis • Rosmarinus officinalis, for liver and gallbladder conditions • Juniperus communis, Corylus avellana, Secale cereale, an important triad used for liver detox • Alnus incana, Vaccinium vitis-idaea, Rubus fructicosus, for uterine fibroids

0.05 ml (extract 1:20 …. 2.5 mg )
Dose
Adults and children > 12 years • Depending on the patient and the problem being treated, 5-10 drops daily are recommended. • To start with, 5 drops should be taken; this dose can be increased by one drop daily to reach a maximum of 15-20 drops daily, until the required and stable result is acquired. The dosage is then maintained for the remainder of the treatment period. • The length of the treatment depends on the health problem and the gemmotherapy remedy used. Normally it is recommended that the treatment be continued for three (3) months. The treatment should last for a minimum of three weeks and can be repeated several times, allowing for example a treatment-free week between each course. • One or two remedies, the most applicable, can be combined; more are not usually necessary. However, the complexes have the advantage of combining several extracts in one formula, thus facilitating the treatment. A complex may, if considered necessary, be combined with another complex or individual bud extract.
Potential side effects/Safety
Clinical experience: • Do not use during the acute phase of inflammation, but rather after its appeasement. • Juniperus: Use Juniperus as a drainage remedy prior to using Secale.
