Description

Natural Factors Astaxanthin 12 mg is our highest-potency astaxanthin formula. It features 100% natural astaxanthin derived from the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis. As a source of antioxidants, it helps protect against the oxidative damage caused by free radicals.

Astaxanthin is a fat-soluble carotenoid pigment with a distinct, brilliant red colour. It is recognized worldwide for its high antioxidant ability and is often referred to as the “king of carotenoids.” Numerous scientific studies on oxidative stress and related health issues have used astaxanthin. Research suggests that natural astaxanthin is a more biologically active alternative to synthetic varieties.

Oxidative stress is an underlying cause of aging and many health problems. Normal metabolic processes, as well as everyday environmental and lifestyle factors, such as UV light, pollution, and stress, all contribute to the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the body. When these oxidants exceed the body’s antioxidant status, it results in oxidative stress.

Dietary antioxidants such as astaxanthin provide extra assistance to the body’s natural antioxidant defence mechanisms. Each easy-to-take softgel contains 12 mg of non-GMO astaxanthin in a base of flax oil for enhanced absorption.
