Each tablet contains:
Selenium (HVP* chelate) : 50 mcg
*HVP: Hydrolysed vegetable protein.

Dibasic calcium phosphate dihydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable grade magnesium stearate (lubricant).

Description

Selenium is a vital antioxidant with properties that may slow down the aging and deterioration of tissues caused by free radical damage. It protects the immune system by preventing the formation of free radicals that can damage the body and preserves the elasticity of tissue that become less elastic with aging. Selenium also aids in fighting infections and has been shown to play a role in thyroid gland activity.

Selenium is important for the formation of antibodies, the binding of toxic metals like mercury, amino acid metabolism, and the promotion of normal body growth and fertility. It is also necessary for the production of prostaglandins – substances that affect blood pressure, and works closely with vitamin E to support cardiovascular health by preventing the oxidation of LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and slowing the aging and hardening of the arteries.

Natural Factors Selenium 50 mcg is a mineral supplement for the maintenance of healthy body cells and good health. The chelated form of selenium (HVP Chelate) allows the mineral to be more readily absorbed and metabolized by the body, making it an ideal choice for those with low stomach acid or other digestive issues.
