Description

Vitamin C is one of the most important antioxidants in the body. It is needed for healthy connective tissue and healthy immune function. It possesses anti-histamine, anti-viral, anti-hypertensive and anti-atherogenic properties. Mineral ascorbates may be less irritating to the GI tract since they are buffered. Potassium helps to maintain acid / alkaline balance and has a role in detoxification.

Average doses are 1000 mg per day.

Potential side effects/Safety

Caution with renal disease, oral contraceptive pill, or aspirin use. May cause diarrhea even at low doses. Caution with G6PD deficiency, iron overload and history of kidney stones. Drug interactions may exist.
