Mulberry Extract (Morus alba) (leaf) : 100 mg
(0.5% 1-deoxynojirimycin)

Rice powder, gelatin capsule (gelatin, purified water), vegetable grade magnesium stearate (lubricant).

Description

White mulberry extract, from the leaves of the Morus alba tree, contains several compounds that act as alpha-glucosidase enzyme inhibitors. Alpha-glucosidase enzymes break down carbohydrates into highly absorbable glucose molecules in the intestines. When these enzymes are inhibited, glucose is released more slowly from food, preventing the initial spike in blood sugar levels after eating, and the resulting spike in insulin secretion. It prolongs glucose absorption so that glucose levels remain more stable between meals.

White mulberry extract also contains several antioxidant compounds that protect against inflammation and cellular damage caused by free radicals. The antioxidant activity of white mulberry is especially beneficial to the vascular system. It protects blood vessel walls from free radical damage, and prevents the oxidation of LDL (“bad”) cholesterol. Antioxidants can help prevent the circulatory problems associated with diabetes.

WellBetX Mulberry Extract from Natural Factors provides 100 mg of high potency white mulberry extract in each capsule. The extract is standardized to 0.5% of key plant active 1-deoxynojirimycin to ensure effective blood sugar regulation. It is an excellent complement to other products in the WellBetX line.
