Ingredients

Each tablet contains:
L-lysine (hydrochloride) : 1000 mg

Microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, croscarmellose sodium, coating (carbohydrate gum [cellulose ], glycerin), vegetable grade magnesium stearate (lubricant), silica.

Description

Natural Factors L-Lysine provides relief from the herpes simplex virus (HSV), helping reduce the recurrence, severity, and healing time of cold sores. As one of the nine essential amino acids that the body relies on to manufacture protein, L-lysine has important roles in the synthesis of collagen, tissue repair, and the production of hormones and enzymes. This makes L-lysine an important nutrient for maintaining a healthy immune system, especially when combined with an adequate intake of vitamin C.

L-lysine is considered “essential” because the body cannot manufacture it and it must be obtained through dietary sources. People with HSV can include L-lysine as part of their nutritional strategy to help keep the virus in check and prevent flare-ups of uncomfortable lesions around the mouth and genitals.
